Evidence

Published wealth bands

  • The BSP primary economic unit (PEU) includes financially interdependent household members; financially independent members may be excluded, so it is not necessarily the full household.
  • The BSP publishes a full national net-worth band distribution rather than exact percentile cutoffs within each band; Worth99 therefore returns a percentile range and never interpolates inside a published band.
  • The official national median PHP120,200 is an exact P50 anchor and may narrow the surrounding PHP100,001–300,000 band without assuming a within-band distribution.
  • Published band shares are rounded and 0.4% of PEUs have unspecified net worth. The stored percentile ranges conservatively allow that unspecified share to fall below the user before display rounding.
  • Negative and zero net worth are published as one combined 1.0% category; Worth99 does not invent ordering within that group.
  • Published wealth-band labels are whole PHP intervals. For decimal user inputs between adjacent integer labels, Worth99 assigns any amount above the prior published upper bound to the next band; it does not interpolate within the band.
